Summer is the perfect time to shop local across the Outer Banks. From farmers markets and roadside produce stands to artisan pop-ups, handmade gifts, baked goods, seafood, flowers, art, coastal crafts, and even live music, these local stops are a great way to support Outer Banks growers, makers, and small businesses.


On the Way to the Beach...


Morris Farm Market & Back 40 Live

3784 Caratoke Highway, Barco

Farm market and a music venue....say less! Local goodies and free live music on the Farm Bar Stage throughout the season, plus bigger ticketed shows and headliners at Back 40 Live. Check their event schedule for shows!


Tarheel Produce

6954 Caratoke Highway, Grandy

Simple and delicious local seafood and produce. They even post lists of where their produce comes from locally! Open 7am-6pm


Grandy Greenhouse & Farm Market

6264 Caratoke Highway, Grandy

Open 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

This is a must-stop summer spot before heading over the bridge. Their peach ice cream is to die for!

First Flight Farmers Market

Aviation Park, 103 Veterans Drive, Kill Devil Hills

A weekly summer market hosted by the Town of Kill Devil Hills with local vendors, food trucks, produce, baked goods, art, jewelry, candles, woodworking, photography, and more.


Soundside Summer Market Series

Soundside Event Site, 6800 S. Croatan Highway, Nags Head

A summer artisan and farmers market at the Soundside Event Site with local vendors, makers, artists, food, farm goods, gifts, and coastal shopping.


Dowdy Park Summer Farmers Market

One of the area’s favorite weekly summer markets with local farmers, bakers, artisans, food vendors, gifts, produce, and handmade goods.
