According to recent statistics from the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS®, the Outer Banks market continues to show steady activity as we move into summer. Residential inventory has remained fairly consistent over the past three months, giving buyers more options than they had during the tightest years of the market. Average days on market has also eased slightly, moving from 75 days in March to 71 days in May, which shows that well-positioned properties are still moving, but buyers are taking their time and pricing remains important.
After a slower March, sales activity picked up in April and May, with residential sales up 18% in April and up 10% in May compared to the same months last year. Overall, we are seeing a more balanced and nuanced market. In a shifting market like this, it is important to continue leaning on trusted agents and local professionals who understand the Outer Banks investment landscape and can help you make informed decisions based on your goals, the property, and current market conditions.
